If you have a large bedroom, you should realize that you can get away with one of those really fancy Bedroom Sets.  A fancier bedroom set can be a little loud for a small bedroom, but when you have a larger room you can pretty much decorate any way you want.  Your room will be able to handle it because of the space.  The fancy sets can be patchwork with jewel tones and fancy materials like silk, satin and even velvet.  Bright purple, gold and maroon are beautiful together and can be overwhelming if your room is too small.  Make sure your room is large enough to handle what you choose.
