To be on the top of google is what we all want. Google has become such an important part of how people get around the Internet, that if you are not visible on the search results the search engines gives us as we ask for information, then your Internet venture may very well be sunk. I say that with some qualification, because there are other ways to get traffic. You can have a mailing list, for example, slowly built up from all sorts of nimble collecting endeavors, and you can e-mail to the subscribers in the list and encourage them to come to your site for a bargain or an early release of a product. It is my experience that many will, if you are in the habit of giving your subscribers good quality content. But having said that, it is a lot easier to simple go with Google and try to be on the top of the search results for your keywords.
