Growing up in a town populated largely by military, I took for granted the abundance of places offering Auto Loans.  Especially as you got closer in proximity to the Base, there were billboards and banners announcing guaranteed approval.  Many of these with no money down.  Naturally there were always some stipulations, but the opportunities were there.  It was only much later in life after moving out of my home town that I became aware that this was not the case typically.  In non military towns, it seems you have to actually look for institutions and businesses offering their money to those in the market for a vehicle.
