Teaching Music History is one of the best things that you can do in  a school classroom. If you are teaching some things, like the history of Rock and roll you’ll find that children will absolutely love it, and will go out of their way to get to your lessons, as long as you present it in the right way. This subject I feel is absolutely critical in getting children inspired and motivated about music, as it really gets them moving forward and understanding where the music that they hear on the radio comes from. What is played today on the radio rarely comes from today - it is usually a mish mash of the last 40 years, and music goes in waves of popularity.
